Personal Daily Goals and Weird Cat Photos

Here is a picture of my cat meowing at me. Just because.
A short while ago, I write a post about being motivated and setting goals. I totally didn't follow up! I am someone who plans two million things to do in a day and only completes a third of them. Whats so bad about that? Feeling inadequate at the end of the day for not completing my goals. It has taken me (and still is taking me) a while to come to terms with the idea that setting a few small goals and actually completing them is better than setting dozens.

Since this blog does deal with health, I'm going to go out on a limb and talk about mental health in this post. I spend so much of my time doing wasteful activities (160+ episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch on Hulu anyone?) that I lose motivation to try a little harder, even when it really doesn't take much effort. When I keep myself busy, I enjoy my time much more and I am happy. So this post goes out to completing a small goal each day. Setting permanent daily goals (like doing a half hour of exercise every M/W/F or working on my blog for 30min each day) doesn't work for me, so I'm going to try setting daily goals each night. I would love for this to be a sort of journey for myself and my readers (the few of you that there are ;)) and I would love for you to document and join me on this! I hope that my rambling has given you some motivation to complete small tasks of your own.

My goal for tomorrow is to go to the gym in the morning then dedicate at least an hour to my homework. Easy enough right?

Well...I guess we'll see!

If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

And now for a more relatable quote...

“The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullshit story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it.”
Jordan Belfort

  1. Fist off, the picture of your cat is just fantastic!

I really enjoy all the beauty tips you post on your blog. I love the great advice and the fact that you're about products with natural ingredients. Anyway, I've been meaning to drop you a comment for a while. I often face the same issue of taking on too much at once. I'll create this tasks and goals for myself that only Super Woman could accomplish in the time frames I give myself. Anyway, instead of every day goals, I set up a list for myself for the week that I'm hoping to accomplish. So, being the social creatures we are, its natural to be more motivated when you have other people working on similar goals. I'll let you know how I fared at the end of the week :)

On an irrelevant note, I recently discovered a product that I've been meaning to tell you about! So the weather in CO this winter has gone from pretty warm temps to drastically bitter cold temps on and off. This REALLY started to take a toll on my facial skin. It's sensitive enough as it is. So I was in the shower a few weeks ago- and I didn't want to use my face scrub because it started to sting the past few times I used it (and I absolutely cannot stand that feeling). Anyway, I used a little bit of my sister's because she usually gets pretty gentle products- and I swear to goodness it instantly cured all the ailments of my face in once use. It took away the dry and flaky patches, moisturized and softened better than any long term use of other products I've used. Anyway, here's a link, thought you would be interested in checking it out.

Best of luck on your small goals!

  2. Hannah thanks for the comment! I am very glad that you've found some of my tips useful :) I love your idea about weekly goals. I did end up completing my little goals yesterday however I found your voice in the back of my mind telling me to make weekly goals instead of daily ones. It seems like better method because some days I have a lot more time to get things done while other days are more restricting. I definitely agree that working with others is more motivational which is why I want to share my goals on my blog :) Thanks for contributing!

I will definitely check out the product you mentioned. I was looking through their website and saw some products that interest me! If you don't mind, I would like to post your experience with this product as a post on my blog so others can give it a shot too :)
